Me-Made-March: Day 1

Well people, it's here. Me-Made-March is ON!!! Even though I went to bed lastnight in February, I made sure I was wearing these pyjamas so I could wake up in a me-made outfit! I plan to document each day's outfit photographically, so here is the first:

Not the most pizazzy of outfits (I work with young and often boisterous children on Mondays) but it did the trick. Me-made jumper, skirt (made a few years ago from an Ikea blind), vest and pants. Oh, and coat and bag not being worn in this picture.

Now you may not be convinced that one photo each day clearly taken in my flat is evidence enough that I haven't just popped these clothes on just for a photo. So I will attempt to take reinforcement images each day of me out and about in my me-made outfit so you can be sure I'm not cheating!

The above photos were taken in a changing room, which may leave you wondering what a self-proclaimed Wardrobe Refashion lifer is doing in the changing rooms of a clothes shop. To cut a long story short, one of my jobs is as a researcher for a trend forecasting agency. I have questions about the appropriateness of this line of work when paired with morals such as my own, but that's a whole 'nother post! Anyway, I promise I don't even try on the mass-produced garments I 'research'.

Also you may have noticed in the above photos (it's difficult not to) the distinctly more pizazzy leopard print coat that I finished sewing yesterday, just in the nick of time. I would have been hella cold today if I had failed! I'll post about it properly soon when I'm not so tired. Sweet dreams.

Yum! That coat is well ...resplendent...there's the word of the day. I also loved the quirky fabric for the skirt.

I love the leopard coat! I just made a crop jacket with faux fur but wish I had enough for a longer coat!

Hurraaah it has begun! Looking forward to this. The coat is DIVINE. Oh, and Happy St. David's Day (for yesterday), I bet the old monk would have something wise and Welsh to tell you about your challenge... this is why I am not a monk I think.

You must be so proud of yourself! :) I love the coat and skirt. You'll probably be more busy trying to blog about all of these things than trying to find you-made stuff to wear, haha.
