Mis Amigos Artesanos!

A week or so ago the lovely Uta awarded me with this, umm, award for which I am very grateful! Many thanks Uta! It's taken me a while to get round to passing it on because I was devoting the majority of my online time to sorting out Me-Made-May, but now all seems to be running well and I am able to turn my attention to who in turn I wish to pass on this award.

For this award I decided to pass it on to blogs that I have recently come across, ones that I have discovered through the process of organising Me-Made-May. Now, there are many sweet, cool, creative and inspirational ladies with equally sweet, cool, creative and inspirational blogs that deserve this award participating in MMM, and I haven't been able to give as much time going through them all as I would like, but the ones I've listed below are ones that have particularly appealed to me so far, and that I'll definately be heading back to.

It was not specified on Uta's award post, how many I was meant to pick, so I've chosen a round number of, um, nine!

Brooke: funny lady. I would like to go for a drink with her.

Cecili: stylish beyond words.
http://sewingandso.blogspot.com/

Clare: is a very interesting lady with lots of interesting things to say about many issues that interest me, such as style and consumption.

Emily: adorable creations, adorable blog.

Jessica: has some very interesting thought provoking things to say, and a pretty blog to boot.

Melynda: basically I want her entire wardrobe. I am very envious when I come across a seamster with a really strong individual style such as hers. Her blog is probably a good read too, but I must admit I haven't read much because I've been too absorbed by the images.

Mena: she creates beautiful vintage inspired clothing suitable for real life. Not only that, her personal challenge to basically rid herself of store bought clothing and build a handmade wardrobe from the ground up obviously appeals to my predisposition towards crafty clothing challenges. Gorgeous creations, gorgeous site.

Chase: was the winner of my tunic giveaway through random selection, she since got involved in MMM and has brought such an awesome attitude to proceedings I couldn't be happier that the tunic went to her. She’s got a real positive ‘get-amongst’ attitude to sewing and crafting. Not only does she sew up a storm, but she finds the time to make cool and helpful tutorials for other seamsters.

Sigrid: Frikkin’ funny sewing lady! So good.

Thank you very much for this award and for creating the Me-made May challenge: if it weren't for you, most garments I've sewn would be waiting to be ironed and instead I would just slip on an easy tee! You're a warm, lovely person and I'm glad we were able to "meet" each other^^.

Now I have even more reading matter and things to inspire me thanks to that list... by the way, I'm trying to find out about a retro pattern that I bought... anyone have any ideas about this? http://stylewilderness.blogspot.com/2010/05/maternity-mystery.html

Thank you so much! Am very flattered :-) and having fun playing along with the MMM challenge. It is definitely popping some misconceptions I had about the way I wear handmade ... I can feel a post coming ... but it's also been great to check in the Flickr page and admire everyone's handwork! I think we're all really enjoying this challenge, thanks for putting it together!

Thanks for the flattering award (blushes), but even more, thanks for getting me so excited that I jumped into this challenge without even thinking! It's been great to read all the interesting ways that people are responding to this!
