1940s Tea Dress Pattern Giveaway!!!

**THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED, THANKS EVERYONE WHO ENTERED**

To celebrate their first sewalong for their new sewing pattern range, 'Sew Over It' is offering readers of this blog the opportunity to score themselves a 1940s Tea Dress sewing pattern (pictured above). This dress style is a gorgeous, updated version of a vintage look that I guarantee looks amazing in both printed and solid fabrics. In fact, this pattern is close to my heart as it is one of the classes that I have taught at 'Sew Over It's' bricks and mortar shop/sewing school in South London, plus I helped develop the instructions for this pattern. Check out Lisa's delightful peaches and cream silk version pictured below, plus you can see my black version of this pattern here.

How to Enter:

There are three copies of this pattern up for grabs. This giveaway/competition is open internationally and with no cost to yourselves. All you have to do is help 'Sew Over It' decide which of their in-the-flesh classes they should release as a sewing pattern next. So head over to the classes page of their website and decide which garment you'd most like to be made available as a pattern and leave a comment in the comment box of this post. Along with your answer, please leave a way for me to contact you if you are successful (i.e. if I can't find your email address within two clicks of my mouse, leave your email address in the body of the comment). Email addresses will not be used for anything other than contacting you if you win this giveaway.

Make sure you have commented by midnight GMT on Wednesday 12th February to enter. The following day I will use a random number generator to select three winners for the three copies of the 1940s Tea Dress sewing pattern and contact them to get their postal addresses to forward on to Sew Over It so they can send out the prize.

Good luck lovelies!

Such lovely patterns! I'm going to say that I'd like to see the Ultimate Shift Dress.

It's a tough choice between the pussy bow blouse and Joan's madmen dress, but I guess the blouse is better because it can be combined with both skirts and trousers.

Love this site how great to be able to choose from such a great range. I think the 1940s wrap dress is one I'd love to use so flattering but still a really interesting silhouette. Fingers crossed I love the tea dress too and we've just moved countries so I have about 3 patterns to my name! :o)

The tea dress is lovely. The other patterns are great too. Ideally I'd like to move into their shop and work my way through the course list, do they do full board? The ultimate shift dress looks fab as does Joan, what a tricky choice, glad I don't have to decide. I'll go ultimate shift. Thanks for the opportunity, now I'll be dreaming of the tea dress in a slightly quirky fabric instead of thinking about work stuff. shelley@gibbfamily.co.uk

I did your ultimate shift dress and full circle skirt class before you had any commercial patterns available. At the time I was desperate for your tulip skirt pattern to practice further with (learn lining, darts) so I'd recommend that. Now I've come on a bit further in my sewing i'd definitely buy the vintage shirt dress.

Caitlyn said...

The Lace Dress, definitely. I'm often tempted by lace in RTW but it usually turns out scratchy and unpleasant. I love the idea of a dress pattern with tips on working with lace, plus it could be made up in other fabrics for a completely different look.

I think you should do the 1950s summer dress as your next pattern.... it was hard to choose as you have a lot of very nice items that you make for your classes. I had to enter. That 1940's tea dress is LOVELY and I'd love to win a pattern....
