***THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. THANKS FOR ENTERING***
Hi peops! It was a right old giveaway-aganza round these parts during MMMay'14, wasn't it? Having taken a month off to prevent this being known as 'that giveaway sewing blog', it's time for another one!
The Prize:
If you recall, back in March I reviewed the 'Great British Sewing Bee: Sew Your Own Wardrobe' book and was surprised to find that it was very awesome. The publishers have been kind enough to offer up a copy to give away to one lucky blog-reader. Unfortunately, due to complicated book licensing laws, this giveaway can only be open to UK and Ireland residents only, sorry international folks.
So check out the aforementioned review to find out more about the book. If you are interested, you can find a full list of the sewing patterns included in the pattern pack here. Then wait by your front door for the postman to arrive. When he does, check the address on your post to see if you live in the UK or Ireland. If it turns out that you do, then you can enter thusly:
How to Enter:
Leave a comment in the comments section of this post telling me who was your favourite competitor of this year's GBSB and why! If I can't access your email address within two clicks, please include it in your entry comment. Email addresses will not be used for anything other than to contact you if you are the lucky winner of this giveaway. To reiterate, this giveaway is open to residents of the UK only and the winner will receive the book completely free of charge. Leave your comment by midnight GMT Tuesday 8th July and the winner will be chosen by random number generator and contacted on Wednesday 9th July. Good luck, my UK-and-Ireland-based book-loving friends!

Definitely Heather (although I liked Lynda and Chinelo also). She has the skills and seems thoroughly nice too. (Rillafree@hotmail.com)
Lynda!! The character, the ideas, the skill, the warmth. with Chinelo close second ;)krysia.thompson@gmail.com
Thank you Zoe, I would love the book! My favourite was Chinelo. I was amazed every week how she took a few measurements, drew a shape then produced beautifully fitting clothes. So talented! philly.lincoln@gmail.com
Chinelo definitely, she was so skilled and imaginative. kateimeldaward@hotmail.com
I loved Lynda she was so down to earth and fun. I loved the vintage blouse made on the series too, it was just stunning. Art.coopsville@gmail.com
Lynda was my favourite contestant by far. Sewcial.warrior@gmail.com
I loved Lynda - she was so friendly and it helped that she was Welsh! :-)
Aaah. lovely giveaway! I really liked them all, I just admire the guts of people who go to show off their skill in front of so many others! If I had to choose though, probably Tamara. jennavive (at) horner (dot) org (dot) uk
Chinelo had amazing sewing skills - but I have a soft spot for Lynda!
Lynda was my favourite. Her love of family and sewing shown through. It was sweet to see her crush on Patrick. Totally understandable. susan.twigg@yahoo.com
Lynda. Loved her attitude when things weren't going well.
I loved Lynda (maybe I'm a bit biased being welsh too) I thought she was lovely and so funny! Chinelo is a close second her sewing skills were amazing!
Hi,
my favourite was Chinelo. I loved the way she took a few measurements and then sewed perfectly fitting and gorgeous garments.
cheers
Ulrike
Lynda! She always made me smile, and reach for my sewing after the show.
I loved Chinelo. I really admired her pattern cutting skills! Would love to win the book, thank you!
Lynda, she was skilled, modest, warm and generous and I would love to spend a day sewing with her.
s.coverdale14@gmail.com
I was hoping Lynda would win, although they were all lovely participants. Thanks for the chance.
I loved Lynda, such a shame she didn't win. I also loved David, the thought of sewing with your dad is just brilliant. I haven't had a chance to see this book yet but I really enjoyed the first one. Its great that they have put full pattern sheets in. (makesnbakes@gmail.com)
Tough one, though I am going to go with Chinelo because I see that purple velvet dress with the green detail on the shoulder in my DREAMS.... though they all seemed like such great people/sewists.. would love the book. x sarah.ogorman@gmail.com x
I thought Heather and Lynda were hilarious to watch and listen to, but I was rooting for Jenny.
Thanks for the giveaway! x
Chinelo's skill at making garments without a pattern absolutely blew me away but I also had a soft spot for David representing male sewists and doing them proud.
Had to be Chinelo for me - such natural talent. Thanks for generous giveaway. Amanda (black-amanda@hotmail.com)
Heather, definitely. She seems such fun and was really skilled.
Heather was my favourite, especially when she talked about needing a gin during stressful periods!
Although I loved Heather (and as a fellow gin lover was rooting for her)my favourite competitor was David because he was down to earth, practical and took it all in his stride, wasn't fazed by tackling something he hadn't tried before and was generous with his time and assistance to others when it was something he'd done before and they hadn't (waterproof jacket)

I just loved Lynda. She was so cheerful and supportive of the other contestants. She's the kind of friend I'd love to have. helen.boyd@talktalk.net. Thanks
Like many others, Lynda was my favourite! She was so warm and funny.
I loved Chinelo simply because she could wizard things together without a pattern, I'm totally in awe of this! I had a serious soft spot for Lynda too though. I've been seriously crushing on this book so thanks for the chance to enter the giveaway.
(alexa.c.duff@gmail.com)
Tough question! The cast was excellent… I loved Chinelo's creativity, Heather's final garment and I thought David was utterly charming. I guess I would have to vote for Chinelo based on her amazing creativity and personality.
Definitely Chinelo - loved how she cut free-hand without any patterns. (morris_helen@hotmail.com)
I actually really loved Heather! But in terms of clothes - probably Chinelo - can't believe the mad skills she had freestyle! franreynolds00@gmail.com
I actually really loved Heather! But in terms of clothes - probably Chinelo - can't believe the mad skills she had freestyle! franreynolds00@gmail.com
Tough question, they were all so talented! I did love Lynda though, she was so cheeky, yet practical. Chinelos garments were probably my favourite though, I tend not to use patterns so she inspired me quite a bit! hannahlouisefrost@aol.co.uk
Chinelo was my fave, she had the coolest style and made me so jealous of her freestyle cutting skills!!
weezy.comps@gmail.com
My favourites were David and Lynda. Wish the next series would come round quicker - it's such a great show.
I quite liked Chinelo's style of cutting out patterns for projects herself, although the creations that Heather came up with were spectacular indeed. (isobeljones@icloud.com)
It has to be Lynda as I'm also a signing stitcher!
Lynda I guess, but they were all brilliant. She seemed so normal and easy to relate to. Perryfamily75@gmail.com
It was really tough to pick a favorite this year, but I'd say my favorite was Heather because she seemed so nice, modest and quintessentially british (but I liked Lynda's sense of humor and Chinelo's creativity too).
Definitely Lynda, she cracked me up every episode :)
(sewsare@hotmail.com)
Lynda. She was so much fun and down to earth. Chinelo came a close second with her amazing methods of cutting and measuring, and the stunning garments she made.
They were all great, but I think Lynda was my favourite. nightingaleanddolittle@gmail.com
Lynda was my favourite Sharon@dwbromley.plus.com
'To reiterate, this giveaway is open to residents of the UK only'
You said Ireland too earlier, so I hope I'm eligible! My favourite was Chinelo, but I really liked Lynda's attitude - she made me laugh :)
mysteries1984@hotmail.com
I loved them all but especially Chinelo, Linda and Tamara! And Heather. Oh and Cirena!
But mostly Patrick.
What a lovely giveaway. Thank you. As a fellow Welsh girl I'd have to give my vote to Lynda. She was a joy. If I'm lucky enough to win you can send the good news to andreabelshaw59@gmail.com
Simon, simply because he's from my home town! But I really liked Lynda, she was such a warm and kind person.
Lynda, she was too adorable! SarahFreebairn@hotmail.co.uk
I loved Chinelo as she was totally inspiring, but also liked Simon who went out early on.
Team Chinelo! She was so creative and I wish I could improvise like that. But I loved them all really.
clcooper1@gmail.com
I really loved Jenny because I think we have similar styles and I would wear a lot of the clothes that she made. Heather was a very close second though, mainly because of her hilarious comments about buckets of gin!
Chinelo- her skills were like magic! Amazing drafting, great fit. hfritzsch (at) hotmail.com
I loved Chinelo - her intuitive way of drafting patterns and sewing was inspirational and she had soooo much talent and creativity. Really wanted her to win.
http://asaucystitch.blogspot.co.uk
I loved Chinelo's makes and the way she made them, she's so talented that she can just cut fabric from measurements, would love to be able to do that and get the amazing fit that she got.
Hannah.
surfjewels@hotmail.co.uk
Chinelo! Her purple velvet tulip dress was AMAZING!
Lynda - I wish I had a Mum like that! Everyone was lovely though, and it's so difficult to choose! (carolyn.thistlewood@ntlworld.com)
i rooted for Chinelo throughout, her self-taught approach to dressmaking was fascinating and her style and makes were amazingly accomplished. however i also loved watching Lynda, for her personality and attitude
oops! atherton.kate(at)gmail.com
I really liked David. He didn't have a particular flare for the part of the show where you take something to bits and make it up differently, and I know I'd really struggle with that too. He took pride in making things well and got far considering how experienced some of his fellow competitors were.
vc.argent@gmail.com
I like Jenni best because it was really inspiring to see someone so new to sewing with such amazing skills!
brown.h@outlook.com
I thought David was great. Really good to see men sewing too.
Ooooh i would LOVE this!!! Lynda was my favourite! She was just lovely!!
sarahfmcameron@hotmail.co.uk
Linda was so funny and she showed that even experienced sewists make mistakes :)
natasha.cleeton@gmail.com
Another one for Heather. She was so elegant (great figure) but also funny and self-deprecating...and I LOVED her final dress, although I'd never dare wear anything so striking.
Would loved to enter the giveaway, thanks.
Salteena (mrscdickens@gmail.com)
Loved Chinelo, so impressed what she is able to do without patterns!!
Andreabhauser@gmail.com
Chinelo was my favourite because of her freehand cutting style which I hadn't even heard of - I've even gone and booked myself on one of her courses coming up in August - freehand cutting techniques - make a maxi dress!!!!! There are still spaces! Check out her blog for more info. rebecca_headd@hotmail.co.uk
My favourite was Jenni because she was a novice sewist like me. She made me think - I can do that!
Umm very difficult as they were all great. I loved them all but Lynda was so down to earth and inspirational, she would be my favourite for this title.
Chinelo. I really wanted most items she sewed. Except the tie! Lovely frocks and fabric?
I feel slightly awkward being the only twelve year-old sewer here, but my favourite had to be Chinelo hands down. I was absolutely amazed at how she could just make things without a pattern! Now THAT is sewing.
Also: I haven't read lots of your posts, but I will read up on all of your older designs after seeing that cute motto underneath your page header!
(alexyjones@me.com)
I personally adored Heather because her organization skills were perfect, even if her cuts and fabric choices were sometimes not. Thank you for this lovely opportunity!
-Isobel (aged 14)

P.S.
I originally posted a comment but was unsure as to whether it went through due to a power-cut.
Wow I'm am definitely the only 12 year old here. Anyway I love this Book and I would love to have my own copy!
My favourite was Heather , She was funny , cool, and loved horses, and the pin cushion dog? It does not get any cooler!
alexyjones@icloud.com
Omg I was totally in love with Chinelo, I thought she was fantastic!! I love your blog xx Carrighead@me.com
I loved Lynda. She was always so mischievous and cheeky! karlaeabryant@yahoo.co.uk
Chinelo gets my vote, mainly because I hadn't seen that way of creating clothing - I was fascinated every week! Gotta love Lynda's warm spirit too. iwanttobeaturtle@gmail.com
Heather was definitely our favourite as she was so much fun! It was a close thing though as we thought Linda was lovely too.
maxijam@yahoo.co.uk
David and chinelo were my favourites. It was great to see a man sewing clothes and the way Chinelo created her garments was amazing. Wish i could do it like that. annmarshalluk@gmail.com
Lynda was my favourite - I loved her mischievous streak and her warmth.
Chinelo was incredible-I was totally in awe of everything she made & how well it fitted & her skill at making stunning garments without patterns!
Lynda for embodying the family feel of sewing. Such a character!
