Remaking things that come from a thrift store is the best way to clothe my daughter and has given her some of her most comfortable items.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464662522153586853.post-22691466867442477462010-11-16T18:54:33.032+00:002010-11-16T18:54:33.032+00:00that dress is adorable on you. nicely done.that dress is adorable on you. nicely done.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464662522153586853.post-71101947567723989842010-11-14T18:53:01.990+00:002010-11-14T18:53:01.990+00:00Zoe, I've been lagging in the comment departme...Zoe, I've been lagging in the comment department, but know I stop by regularly!

I loved your lady in waiting post and I particularly loved this one. As with you in Self-Stitched September, I've got a new job that's taking up all my time and so refashioning really fits the bill--it allows me to indulge my thrift store shopping, my desire to sew (and enjoy it), and, if done right, is low-investment, high-reward.

I just picked up "Little Green Dresses," for some ideas on basic pattern drafting and reusing existing clothes/fabric -- I'm excited to get started. I think I should take a tip from you and pick up a few large dresses to have fun with :) Hope all is well!Alihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15575104493258544397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464662522153586853.post-45227623065005846012010-11-13T09:47:24.981+00:002010-11-13T09:47:24.981+00:00Thanks for your comments laydeez.

In fact I feel a new charity shopping post coming on to address some of these gripes.

Thanks xxxxxxxxZoehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10893813529679767893noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464662522153586853.post-69794916624250757802010-11-11T16:52:04.846+00:002010-11-11T16:52:04.846+00:00Well put and FAB (I want to rip it off your body a...Well put and FAB (I want to rip it off your body and make it my own) dress!

Go, Zo!Darcihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02936847220360997738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464662522153586853.post-40123512215096754972010-11-11T15:44:59.418+00:002010-11-11T15:44:59.418+00:00That dress is super cute! That dress is super cute!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05759084742694396300noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464662522153586853.post-68594898433926219422010-11-11T13:50:53.018+00:002010-11-11T13:50:53.018+00:00I'm happy if on most days I am wearing at leas...I'm happy if on most days I am wearing at least one garment I have made, but I don't sweat it if I'm not. I think your abandoned shirt counts as a refashion - you made another garment from an existing one. The dress looks great, I like the red belt addition. I also agree with Clare that there is a surfeit of Primark and Tesco in many charity shops at the moment. I am suffering sewing withdrawal at the moment due to malfunctioning machine. I am startign to miss it very much!Minnadohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02838971800070422776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464662522153586853.post-65889972202739204122010-11-11T09:48:42.833+00:002010-11-11T09:48:42.833+00:00I really love seeing giant sack dresses given new ...I really love seeing giant sack dresses given new life - this one looks great now! I know what you mean about knitwear, I've usually got at least one woolly on between October - April and my knitting skills aren't up to producing wardrobe-worthy items. I keep looking for giant mens' jumpers to refashion but charity shops round here seem to be full of really nasty stuff from Tesco and Primark!Clarehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11068859188360245469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464662522153586853.post-14603498568144508042010-11-11T07:50:22.584+00:002010-11-11T07:50:22.584+00:00Love the dress!
