I will give them a go. Yours are fabulous. My past versions include adapting it to make a pointed witches hat and deliberately shrinking and enlarging it so it ranges from small baby up to my huge head and making one side out of a left over t shirt.

I always find that the hardest bit is getting the crown to attach to the sides, and the smaller the size the fiddlier it is, but other than that it's plain sailing.

I always use iron on interfacing, I make 2 separate hats and sew them together and turn them out (rather than the way the pattern suggests which involves hand stitching, there's a link to a tutorial that explains what I do below), or even finish the ends with bias binding, and I've taken to lazily topstitching the brim in a spiral rather than concentric circles.

https://wordpress.com/stats/insights/prolificprojectstarter.wordpress.comRhttp://www.prolificprojectstarter.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464662522153586853.post-87827724621619157112016-06-14T22:33:45.296+01:002016-06-14T22:33:45.296+01:00Oh oops - that was me~ Jessica (formerly of ayenfo...Oh oops - that was me~ Jessica (formerly of ayenforcraft)Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03097748607204546696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464662522153586853.post-33019146465406040432016-06-14T22:33:02.607+01:002016-06-14T22:33:02.607+01:00Ooooh, love these hats. My friends continue to have children, and all your ideas are so useful (no way am I making teensy 0-3 month baby clothes anymore, seriously now).

Never had a chance to congratulate you on your second pregnancy - hope it's going well! For what it's worth, a friend of mine recently had a second child and commented recently that the second is easier in that you're less stressed, know more of what to expect, etc. But all your concerns you mentioned in your last post are quite valid! No words of wisdom to offer, just well wishes and a big hug from around the globe :-).Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03097748607204546696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464662522153586853.post-74814224219950908632016-06-14T18:53:48.458+01:002016-06-14T18:53:48.458+01:00These are very sweet. I can imagine some made from a combo of ex-trousers for the outside and ex- shirts for a really soft, absorbent (sorry for the summer sweat reference) lining. You could even recycle old rain coats or bags for rain hats! This is a really good idea, to remind me of this pattern. Now I've successfully passed phase one (down load and keep for a few years), I should probably move onto phase two like you. Wait...do people have rain hats any more? We did, didn't we? I think if they don't, we should bring them back.
Love your hats. I even used an enlarged pattern to make one for myself, I've always found it difficult to find sunhats to fit me.MoodyCatCraftshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15936531956274220887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464662522153586853.post-62532029819484927532016-06-14T07:33:20.666+01:002016-06-14T07:33:20.666+01:00Love a bit of scrap busting especially when the re...Love a bit of scrap busting especially when the result is cute and useful.
